Digital divide exacerbates US inequality
"Most families in some of America’s poorest cities lack a broadband connection, according to a Financial Times analysis that shows how the lack of Internet access is making economic equality in the country worse. U.S. cities such as Detroit and Flint in Michigan and Macon in Georgia, which have become synonymous with urban decay, have broadband subscription rates of less than 50%. There are still 31 million households in the U.S. without a home or mobile broadband connection."
