oracle class

Message from Tulio regarding the Oracle training he just completed:

The Oracle class was really good. There are some incredible things you can do to load balance and make the database highly available. One of the chapters we covered in class was backing up a RAC database using RMAN. In 9i RMAN is much easier to use than in 8i so my plan is to get together with Rogelio and test RMAN.

I learned from my instructor that a SAN is not the only option for the shared storage component of RAC. He said that I should be able to implement RAC with our current hardware setup (scsi disks). So I am going to read more about it and worse case scenario we can ask Dell Consulting.
