The education-technology group Educause on Tuesday
warned its members that it had recently discovered a security breach on one of its servers, which it said may have compromised information from individuals’ Educause Web-site profiles or passwords of .edu domain holders. The group said that it had taken immediate steps to contain the breach and that it was working with law-enforcement officials and outside security experts to investigate the incident and guard against future breaches.
